Position: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
Location/Department: Rome, New York / Manufacturing Engineering

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Process Documentation and improvements
    • Well defined processes, manufacturing standards, inspection methods, as well as reducing waste. Individual will also be responsible for auditing existing processes.
  • Cost Savings through continual process improvements, scrap/rework reduction, make vs. buy decisions, efficiency, safety improvements, capital improvements, etc.
    • Verifiable justification in dollars, time, or other relevant measurements.
  • Support everyday production objectives
    • Process of deviation requests, discrepant material resolution, shop floor issue resolution, routing creation, CNC programming, make vs. buys decisions, quoting, manufacturing questions from suppliers, and problem solving.
  • Root cause and corrective action analysis and execution
    • Successful elimination of non-desired result(s)
  • Training, skills improvements, research, and overall knowledge base development
    • Successful completion of courses, sessions, trade shows, seminars, and self-learning.

 Education

  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering related field, or Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering related field with at least (1) year of verifiable experience in a Manufacturing environment, or an Associate’s Degree in an Engineering Technology related field with at least (3) years of verifiable experience in a Manufacturing environment, or at least (10) years of verifiable experience in a Manufacturing environment with a HS Diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Interpersonal skills and experience to deal with all types of situations typical to a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with work measurement methods
  • Knowledge of basic working of MRP software
  • Machining, inspection, and fabrication techniques, lathe, mill, grind, weld, shear, brake, saw, press, micrometers, calipers, height gage, indicators, basic part layout. Experience using tolerances and general manufacturing practices and procedures.
  • GD&T knowledge
  • Microsoft Office Products knowledge
  • Fluency in English

Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable):

  • Program Management Skills and the ability to maintain a significant workload
  • CAD (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of programming using CAM software or “G and M code”.
  • Design for Ergonomic consideration

Travel Requirements: Up to 25%
