Position:                                            MECHANICAL ENGINEER I (Tire & Rubber group)

Location/ Department:                  Rome, New York / Engineering (Department No. 7161)

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:

  • This Mechanical Design Engineer I position is an entry-level engineering position for an opening within our Tire and Rubber Sustaining Group #1. The candidate will be primarily involved with design level engineering tasks for the development and sustainment of Bartell tire and rubber products.

Essential:

  • Bachelors Level Engineering Degree from accredited university (or 6 years of job-related work experience)
  • Fluency in English
  • Must be proficient in Solid Works and AutoCad
  • Comprehensive understanding of fundamental mechanics.
  • Ability to travel internationally

Desirable:

  • Geometric tolerances
  • ASTM design standards
  • Hands-on machine shop experience
  • MRP/ERP background

Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize design tools (i.e., AutoCad and Solidworks) with a strong focus in machine design products
  • Proven ability to maintain compliance in machine design engineering principles and procedures
  • Able to utilize the most current design techniques and tools while ensuring the designs are compliant with all product specifications and safety requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical controls
  • Able to gain strong working knowledge of industrial machinery related business practices.
  • Demonstrated passion for learning new challenges and methodologies in engineering design projects
  • Hands on working knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
