Rome, NY – In order to ensure long-term competitiveness manufactures need to find new ways to be more effective and efficient in their day to day operations. Bartell has looked to meet this challenge by applying various principals and tools of a concept referred to as lean manufacturing. Lean manufacturing, at its core, is a systematic approach to eliminate waste and inefficiency without reducing productivity. For lean to become effective lean must become an integrated part of business activities and achieve buy-in various employees are selected to become immersed in the principles and work with all aspects of the organization to drive systemic cultural change. These employees, who complete extensive training, are commonly referred to as Black Belts, Green Belts, and Lean Champions.
Bartell is proud to announce that Mike Buisman, engineering project team leader, Justin Morat, manufacturing engineer, and Heather Fargnoli, customer service, have recently completed the training requirements to achieve certification as Lean Champions. With their new tools and skills, they will look to advance various projects that will leverage lean manufacturing techniques as well as their excellent problem-solving skills to ensure Bartell continues to excel as a world-class manufacturer.
