Position: Electrical Engineer ELEN2
Location/Department: Rome, New York / Electrical Engineering (Department No. 827161) 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill, and Experience

  • This Electrical Engineer position is for an opening within our Electrical Engineering Team. The candidate will program new products or redesign existing products with minimum supervision.
  • The preferred candidate will assist in commissioning and debugging of products.
  • Candidate must adhere to all facility-wide safety standards and practices and work in a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years related work experience; OR 10 years with relevant experience in automation and or controls.
  • Candidate must have experience with PLCs, AC, and DC drives such as Siemens, Step 7, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley RS Logic 5000, motion control and operator interface units.
  • Candidate should have excellent computer skills including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.

Essential:

  • Will be working on ‘live’ equipment. Adherence to programs and activities that are in full compliance with all related HEICO Safety Standards. Monitor and maintain accurate records.
  • Will have direct contact with customers, vendors, and contractors that may consist of operators, engineers, or managers.
  • Travel of duration of up to 3 weeks or more including international.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the most current software techniques and tools.
  • Programs must be accurate, timely and comply with all safety standards.
  • Review/approve all applicable requests for change.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of machine process and operation.
  • Active participant in team meetings, design reviews, machine reviews, kick-off meetings.

Interact with other departments, including Manufacturing, TSS, Sales, and Purchasing.
